How To Remove & Install Intake Manifold Gasket Chevrolet 350

Remove the Air Cleaner

The first thing is to remove the air cleaner if your Chevy 350 has one. This is the first thing to do before you can install the intake manifold.

To remove the air cleaner, what you have to do is to unscrew the screws that hold down the air cleaner to the intake manifold. After you are done with this, proceed to remove the intake manifold from the engine block using a screw driver.

You have to be careful while doing this so that you don’t end up damaging the engine block.

Disconnect the Fuel Lines

The next step is to disconnect the fuel lines and there are different ways through which you can do this. The very popular method of doing this is by using a fuel line disconnect tool.

A fuel line disconnect tool is a small, hand-held device that comes with a claw-like grip on one end and a cut-off wheel on the other.

The cut-off wheel is what you will use to slice through the fuel line, while the claw-like grip is what you will use to draw it out of the fuel pump.

Another method that you can use to disconnect the fuel lines is to make use of a fuel line wrench. A fuel line wrench is a tool with a ratchet handle and a long thin bolt. You can use it to twist the fuel line off the fuel pump.

Disconnect the Vacuum Lines
